October

The weather has turned but the Dutch lavandin is still flowering and the bees and butterflies are busy enjoying it on the warmer sunnier days although some bees were out this morning despite it being damp. Lavandin has a lot stronger scent than tradition lavender and is ideal to add to bags to hang in your wardrobe to fight off the moths. I also use the oil in our diffuser oil and our essential oil blend with our Folgate and Maillette essential oils. I will start harvesting it in a couple of weeks but will leave some until they have finished with it.

I also still have lots of pruning, strimming and mowing to do before we can put the Lavender Field to bed for the winter and along side this I am bottling oil and floral water and bagging lavender buds ready for all the markets and fairs leading up to the C word.
