Introduction to Willow Weaving Basketry Workshops with Judith Evans & Glenys Newton.
Learn the art of basketry using plant based materials, making a variety of different things.
The May workshops take place in the garden at Mentley Farm and can be booked individually for a maximum of 6 people
The July & August workshops take place in The Lavender Field and are designed for group bookings of a minimum of 10 people (hence the price) with a maximum of 5 more at a cost of £75 each .

Single Bookings
Plant Supports - 15th May
Suitable for beginners. Spend a relaxing day making willow supports for your garden.
You will learn:
How to select and prepare material.
How to weave tiers and spirals around the frame
How to secure the weave with decorative ties.
You will have the opportunity to make two supports and weave both designs.

Sunflowers - 29th May
Spend a relaxing day learning to make a beautiful willow Sunflower .
We will start by using a pairing weave to create the centre, then insert rods
around the circumference, shaping them into petals . Additional decorative
weaving can be added to the petals if desired. To finish, we will attach the
flower to a long stout rod, ready to adorn your garden. The skills learned in
this workshop are suitable for beginners and are especially relevant for
anyone who would like to take their learning further and make a basket at a
later date.

☀️The Celebration of Summer Group Workshops take place in The Lavender Field under canvas if the weather is not so good.
🌸The workshops are 4 hours long and you can choose the time. Morning afternoon or evening to suit you.
🌷As a group you will all make the same objects but you can swap an object shown to go with your date.
🌼You can personalise what you are making by bringing keepsakes or fabrics to use.
🥂☕️ We will provide refreshments fizz and nibbles or tea and cake. It is your celebration..
